I don't know what linkedin is anymore...
I recently tried to upload a video and on another occasion an image. Nothing ended up posting. It was early morning and I noticed that I was working in Blender while drinking a smoothie that I made in my blender. When the video wouldn't work I tried to post the screenshot of NYC tree data.
I am thinking I have arrived at the point of diminishing returns. Limited functionality, poor distribution and visibility and endless pushes for premium.
AI has excited a bunch of my data science and geospatial colleagues. Not me. The thought of handing over creation to a probability token with the primary purpose of scouring the internet for what everybody else is doing is not appealing.
We need to own what we create. Platforms change. Remember when Medium was the place to be or we all had to flock over to CLubhouse or be forgotten?
What if we simplify?
I think the straw that broke this camel's back was the concept of "brain stacking". Not the concept itself but the practice of filming yourself doing it and posting to instagram. I am imagining it as it was described to me so your mileage might vary.
You head off to the library with your journal, a list or stack of books, podcasts in your ear buds and you film your stroll and post the activities to instagram or your reel of choice. What the hell? Entertainment is now your audience watching you write in your journal?

I am going to play around over here for a bit. See what it feels like to wean myself off of the clicks, shares or whatever brings us to public forums.
It will be a slow start but hopefully the juice will be worth the squeeze.
